Gelato is a Piranha and one of Magical Starsign's seven Egg Characters. Gelato is a representative of water magic similarly to Sorbet. Like all the Egg Characters, Gelato has no relevance to the overall storyline of the game.

Appearance[]
Gelato is a short blue piranha with a brown underbelly, bright red lips, and purple eyes. They also have a rolled up but unlit cigar, and a black hat with a blue stripe.
When walking, Gelato will wiggle from left to right.
In battle, Gelato will wiggle back and forth while standing. They guard by holding their fins over their face. When casting magic, they will wiggle, before jumping up and hovering in the air, before falling back down after their spell. When using their physical skill, they will leap to the enemy, search them, and a small light will blink in the enemy's pocket, before jumping back as the foe is damaged with wavy lines. Then a dialogue box will indicate of the foe had an item, or if they resisted and take damage. When using an item, they will raise their fins upwards, and point their body up. When winning a battle, Gelato will jump up like they used magic, repeat their idle animation, before having a light sparkle appear over them, and posing.
Method to Obtain[]
One method to obtain Gelato is through Tag Mode interactions between multiple players or DS systems that also have the game. Since Gelato's magical element is one of the five basic element, it can be acquired within the first four eggs of Tag Mode. Eggs are given to the player when he reaches a certain number of Amigos in his or her Amigo List.
Gelato is possibly available in the following eggs...
- 1 Amigo - 1st Egg (Any element, besides Dark or Light)
- 15 Amigos - 2nd Egg (Any element, besides Dark or Light)
- 30 Amigos - 3rd Egg (Any element, besides Dark or Light)
- 60 Amigos - 4th Egg (Any element, besides Dark or Light)
Other Egg Characters of the five basic elements can be found in these eggs, so there is a possibility that the player will not receive Gelato as a playable character.
To hatch Gelato's egg or others, it usually takes five to six Tag Mode interactions with different people. If one tries to Tag with one player or one save slot multiple times, it can take four times longer to hatch.
Abilities and Skills[]
Physical Skill
- Extort
Gelato will move to a target, and will steal an item from them. There's a chance the target will resist and take damage, but if Gelato manages to take an item, the foe is unharmed.
Out-of-Battle Ability
Technically, Gelato's ability to give extra money after battle still happens in combat, but is still considered an Out of Battle power.
Spells
- Zap-O'-War (level 1)
- Compote Egg (level 50)
Also, Gelato can learn any spell from a Book just like the main characters.
Name Origin[]
Gelato is an Italian ice cream or ice.
Trivia[]
- Since Gelato is an italian ice cream, it's possible Gelato is a reference to the Italian Mob, both with the ability to steal money and items from enemies, to the nature of a piranha to gang up on prey, or the hat and cigar's fashion.
